NO, THIS IS NOT AN I DREAM OF JEANNIE AUDITION - Clarke sixth-grade students mimic the movements of gypsy belly dancer Kathleen Miller of Des Moines Friday during a presentation of life in the Middle Ages presented by some area renaissance reenactors. Miller and her mother, Tamalena Lenhart, of the Danzamystique dance group, offered information on the history and purpose of belly dancing. The children also were entertained by storytellers Diana Gorsline, a 1971 Clarke graduate, and her niece, Sara Gorsline, a member of the class. Robert Welch and Alvin Post, both of Osceola, offered a demonstration of sword fighting. SENTINEL-TRIBUNE PHOTO BY DENNIS JACOBS |
